157 Stagecoach service change Sidmouth to Exmouth

Following concerns from local residents who use the 157 Stagecoach service from Sidmouth to Exmouth and vice versa about the different route taken on a Sunday and by passing Arcot Road and Woolbrook Road……. I have raised this with Transport Coordination as the 157 is one of the services we support and am pleased to report that, as from next Sunday (20th)April in line with Stagecoach’s network changes, they will be amending the route to operate consistently seven days a week via Arcot Road and Woolbrook Road.

However, the route will be amended with buses operating via Temple Street, Vicarage Road and All Saints Road, as opposed to operating via Winslade Road, Alexandria Road and Station Road. This is a commercial decision by Stagecoach so that it operates closer to the town centre and Transport Coordination agreed it should do the same on Sundays.

This will mean the section of Station Road between All Saints Road and Winslade Road will no longer get a service. Whilst Winslade Road will also lose the 157, they will still have service 382 on Mondays to Saturdays.
